The competition draws attention to the Works Festival’s focus this year on sustainability, social responsibility and creativity.Teams of three or fewer are encouraged to join us in Churchill Square (West of the Three Bananas Cafe) and use the materials provided to create pieces of furniture using their design instincts and constructive talents. This improvised industrial design competition will take place from 11:00am - 6:00pm on Saturday, June 27th and will be judged by a panel of esteemed community members on Sunday, June 28th from 1:00-2:00 pm. Teams must arrive by 10:30am on Saturday for materials selection and on-site registration procedures.
Judges to be announced. We once again ask our community to participate in voting for their favorite with the "Peoples Choice Award". Awards will be presented on June 28th, with prizes to be distributed after the judging. Alberta Woodworks!, a division of the Canadian Wood Council, is teaming up with us again to make this event happen. Prizes will be awarded from local merchants (sponsors to be confirmed). No experience necessary; all those interested are welcome to participate, but there is a limited number of entrants so come early or email us at info@madeinedmonton.org for pre-registration.
