Richard Isaac
,
LEED® APPrincipal
Richard graduated from the Oxford School of Architecture in 1976. He worked for a year as a graduate architect for the British Government and practiced for six years in Hamburg, West Germany, working on a variety of institutional projects. He came to Canada in 1982. For three years Richard volunteered in the First Nation community of Wabasca in Northern Alberta. In 1987 he began practicing in Edmonton. It was at FSC Groves Hodgson Manasc that he met Vivian Manasc, with whom he founded Manasc Isaac Ltd. in 1997.
At Manasc Isaac, Richard is the Principal-in-Charge of design, keeps an overview of all the firm’s projects and is the Design Architect for specific projects. For Richard, there are no template solutions to design problems. Budgets and schedule restraints are challenges rather than negative impacts.
Of paramount importance to Richard is to strive to create buildings that will have zero impact on the environment through an integrated design process of architecture and engineering.
