Bay Building

Edmonton, AB, Canada

Urban Planning, Commercial

Design

December, 2005

  • Overview

Manasc Isaac was engaged to explore the development opportunities of the historic Hudson Bay Building in downtown Edmonton and to identify and address zoning, parking, height and engineering implications of these options. We prepared two alternative conceptual floor plans for the building.

  • Option 1 considered commercial and residential occupancy including retail, office and condo apartments, rooftop town houses and a residential tower.
  • Option 2 included the above occupancies, plus classroom space and conference rooms, studio space and offices suitable for post-secondary educational institutions.
