  • Overview

The Demmitt Cultural Centre provides the opportunity for community-led construction and management. Members of the community contribute their time, skill, and materials toward the completion of the Centre in order to provide a place for the community to come together in a friendly setting for any sort of occasion.

Working with designer Michael Rouke of Quiet Box Studio, our main focus was to provide the community with drawings and documentation that were clear and understandable for a community-led building project. The end result of this engagement will be a building that demonstrates unique construction such a straw bale, structural insulated panels (SIPs), and double-stud framing.
