Leismer Lodge is an attractive, comfortable and sustainable complex that houses workers engaged in StatoilHydro operations in Northern Alberta. One of StatoilHydro's core values includes the need to "reduce the negative impact of our activities and products on the environment". Leismer Lodge exemplifies this commitment. It is designed to have a minimal environmental footprint and LEED certification is currently underway.

The philosophy of this project is to create an attractive, comfortable, sustainable 'home away from home' residential complex to attract and retain staff. The lodge accommodates 480 people to start, with a capacity to grow to 600 people.

The design of the central core facility of the lodge, which is connected to modular housing units, incorporates food preparation and service spaces, leisure and recreation spaces, administration/meeting spaces, lockers, utility and support spaces. The lodge is integrated into the native boreal forest and sensitive to community needs.
