The vision of the Healing Centre is to provide a focus for the holistic wellness of the Saddle Lake people in the context of traditional and contemporary Cree values. The new Healing Centre gives the community independence and self-sufficiency by providing on-site care and treatment.

The scope of the Healing Centre was determined through extensive health needs assessments, analysis of existing programs and a review of community development plans. The Healing Centre offers alcohol and drug addiction rehabilitation - treatment and counselling programs that were previously unavailable in Saddle Lake.

The Healing Centre is physically removed from the Village of Saddle Lake in order to provide privacy and a positive retreat-like setting. This site is immediately adjacent to the Lake itself and is easily accessed from the village centre.
