Site Conservation
The locations of the access road and building were chosen in order to minimize tree clearing. Natural clearing areas will be the sites of future Healing Residences.

Building Form and Orientation
The building is conceived of as a longhouse with 3 major common rooms, maximizing views to the lake.

Materials
Low maintenance, non–combustible exterior finishes used include corrugated metal cladding with brick and MBM roofing. Interior finishes include: linoleum flooring, gypsum board, exposed glulam beams with maple veneer plywood panelling on ceilings in common rooms.

Site Planning
The Healing Centre is the first phase of  amore comprehensive site plan that will incorporate small  Healing Residences into the existing natural clearings for patients requiring 30 day treatment periods and/or longer term family wellness training.
