Schlumberger, a world leading oil field supplier, is expanding its facilities in the Edmonton Research Park with the addition of the DBR Technology Centre for Excellence.  The Centre will be the new home for research into heavy oil, chemistry and flow assurance.  It will compliment the labs and manufacturing facilities in DBR Schlumberger's present leased facilities in the Edmonton Research Park.

The Centre will become Schlumberger’s sixth international research centre and will enable Schlumberger to build on their research capabilities worldwide. In addition to new research areas and specialized laboratory space, a shared meeting space and cafeteria are being designed for the building.

The Centre is being designed in accordance with sustainable building principles and will target LEED® Gold Certification. As the DBR Technology Centre is the only Schlumberger centre worldwide focused on fluid, the concept of fluidity will be used as inspiration for the building’s design.
