As Edmonton’s first LEED® Silver project, St. John’s Ambulance shows that energy efficient buildings no longer have to suffer from inflated budgets or complicated process outlines.

This new building replaces the former building that St. John Ambulance outgrew after forty years of operation.  The new building features enhanced instructional and administrative spaces as well as considerably more parking for staff and students.  At the initial Vision Workshop, St. John Board and Staff requested a facility that "is more than a building and more of an experience".  Also envisioned was a prominent facility that is open and engaged with the City.

Manasc Isaac responded to these challenges by designing an iconic building.  A number of sustainable design strategies were incorporated into the design of St. John's Amublance Council Headquarters that improve individual comfort and reduce year-to-year operational expenses by approximately 52%.

The building expresses St. John Ambulance's uninterrupted commitment to the dissemination of knowledge over its long history and serves as a living project example that promotes a healthy and environmentally sensitive approach to design, construction, working and living.
