Wiki
This section is to help us make the best use of our wiki. It offers guidelines on it's use and also information on how to get the best out of it.
Here are some (possibly off-the-wall) suggestions:
- Wikis make co-authorship viable. Use this wiki to develop project documentation
with your team. Share the appropriate sections with clients and
contractors. This can be much more efficient than one individual
trying to gather and compile the information for the whole team.
- Wikis can be a repository of the most up-to-date information. This can save having to regularly despatch documents by mail or email that are soon outdated. Instead send an email with a link to the relevant section of the wiki. Now everyone's on the same page.
- Wikis save you from repeating
yourself. If you have valuable information that you wish to
communicate, or you work in a support role and often get asked the same
thing over and over, then consider posting and referring people to the
information here.
