How to make a page Public
This wiki supports a closed team format by
default. That means that much of the wiki content will be hidden from
general public. In this way you can collaborate on projects with other
team members without worrying about confidentiality.
However, in many cases a page may be shared with the public when this is to our advantage. For example:
- Demonstrating our expertise and credibility to potential clients and those looking for careers with us
- Forwarding our objectives as educators
- Demonstrating our openess to share useful information
- Giving back to the internet community for all the ways we've benefited from that network
To make a page public:
- Login and click on the Page Configuration link just below the tree menu
- Decide whether to grant the ability for the public (anonymous users) to comment
- Change the Everyone group access setting to view and click Save Changes
Please be careful not to grant edit or moderate access to the public (the Everyone group). This would allow the general public to co-author pages and would open the page up for abuse. Most visitors (opportunistic robots) will be hoping to boost their Google ranking by placing links on the page. The useful information on that page might also be deleted.
