miwindow

miwindow is a simple application for the specification of windows in EnergyPlus. Using algorithms from the EnergyPlus engineering manual it creates WindowMaterial:Glazing and Construction objects with the window characteristics (thermal conductivity [U], solar heat gain coefficient [SHGC], and visual transmittance) specified by the user. This application was developed by Manasc Isaac with assistance from Alberta Ingenuity.

While this is useful tool to make use of reported U, SHGC, and VT in E , it needs to be applied with caution and not considered as replacement for detailed data. Spectrally selective glazing can not be distinguished with this approach and this really negates true differences between newer products.
