Manasc Isaac has reimagined this 1970s concrete tower to be more visually alluring, efficient and appropriate given its high-profile location.
WSP Place (formerly known as Associated Engineering Plaza) stands at the crossing of 109th Street and Jasper Avenue, a key entryway into the downtown core. Its outdated design no longer fulfilled the technical, aesthetic and urban requirement of its owner.
Our design replaces much of the building envelope, adding high-performance materials that allow more natural light to spill into the space while also wrapping the building more efficiently, saving operating costs.
Inside the building, better climate control makes for a comfortable and healthy work environment, while updated mechanical and electrical systems decrease electrical consumption by 40%.
The building’s appearance is upgraded to one worthy of its prime location, with ground-level amenities that add vitality to this urban corner. WSP Place's reimagine reinforces the triple bottom line that a sustainable retrofit offers: benefits that are environmental, social/cultural and economic.
