Everybody remembers “firsts,” and AUMA was an important one for Manasc Isaac!

Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (an organization of town and city governments) decided to renovate and expand its headquarters on Edmonton’s Saskatchewan Drive. The existing office building had been designed to discretely integrate into the residential neighbourhood, reinforcing the organization’s image as an embassy to the community. Manasc Isaac was charged with renovating the existing portion and expanding the structure onto an adjacent site.

The design removed a bungalow on the neighboring lot, extending the existing building with a 2-storey addition. This new space houses a reception area, and appears to casual passers-by as a residence thanks to visual cues such as balconies, bay windows and dormer roofs.

A key mandate for this project was to make the structure as sustainable as possible, and Manasc Isaac went above and beyond to achieve this, earning AUMA the very first LEED® certification in Alberta!

AUMA stands as a hallmark of success for our design team, offering the organization a brilliantly sustainable and functional space that blends into its community.
