The new Drayton Valley Water Treatment Plant replaces an aging facility that had begun to fail. Following a mechanical failure, the former water treatment centre’s shutdown meant that the town’s citizens faced a boil water order for over a week – a new facility was needed, and quick!

Located near Drayton Valley’s core, the new state-of-the-art water treatment centre will ensure the quality of the community’s water supply for years to come.

The Water Treatment Plant is an aesthetically pleasing building; bold wave patterns ripple across the side of the structure, speaking to the nature of the work performed by its occupants, and adding a splash of vibrant colour to the landscape. Inside, its state-of-the-art technology protects the community’s population against pollutants and chemicals.
