A sparkling addition to MacEwan University’s downtown Edmonton campus, the new Centre for Arts and Culture will house the programs previously located at the University’s Jasper Place campus. These include a diverse range of fine and performing arts programs, which require an array of performance, recital and teaching spaces.
A jewel among the myriad new buildings on 104th Ave, the Centre for Arts and Culture joins the new downtown arena, Royal Alberta Museum and Art Gallery to complete Edmonton’s downtown arts hub.
This striking glass-covered structure features unique glazing which suggests black and white piano keys. Inside the building, natural light abounds, illuminating the pianos scattered throughout the common space where spontaneous performances will take place throughout the day.
MacEwan University Centre for Arts and Culture was designed in collaboration with Bing Thom Architects.
