Our design team transformed a former airport terminal building into a groundbreaking urban First Nations high school, the first of its kind in Canada.

The school’s mission is to guide First Nations Youth in realizing their academic, spiritual and personal potential. Our design team implemented a highly integrated workshop process to fully consult with Elders, students and educators in order to create a culturally appropriate learning environment.

This active consultation program allowed the project to be fast-tracked, and it was designed over a tight 8-month schedule.

Today, the school continues to serve as an innovative educational opportunity that honours and integrates aboriginal culture, language and traditions, starting with the space itself!
